Use Compress PDF to 500KB

The PDF is read, rendered, rebuilt, and downloaded on this device. No upload request is made.

Lossless firstThe tool first tries to reduce the PDF without changing selectable text, links, or forms. Raster compression is used only when the lossless result cannot meet your limit.
Large PDFs need more timeVery large PDFs may take longer on phones because processing remains entirely local. Keep this tab open until compression finishes.

A 500KB result should be evaluated as a complete attachment. Check both the receiver's byte definition and the smallest table text before treating the file as ready.

About Compress PDF to 500KB

Use the 500KB PDF target for a form or service that rejects a larger document but still requires a single attachment. Half a megabyte is a whole-document budget: a two-page form and a twenty-page scan must share the same ceiling. Start with the original export where available because repeated scans and re-compression can add artefacts. This browser workflow compares the original size, attempts a structural rewrite, and may then rasterise pages. The result includes measured bytes and the processing mode so you can judge both size and changes to document behavior.

What happens to the PDF

  1. Choose the complete PDF that the recipient needs. Check that its page order and content are correct before spending the size budget on pages that may not belong in the submission.
  2. Run the 500KB search and read the target status. Do not interpret a completed progress indicator as proof that the output is below the limit.
  3. Download the result and compare dense tables and pale annotations with the original. Verify the output in an ordinary PDF viewer as well as the browser preview.

A table-heavy report

For a ten-page report, a 500KB ceiling averages 50KB per page before overhead. Check narrow numeric columns, minus signs and decimal points after rasterisation. If those become ambiguous, a technically small enough download is still unsuitable for the report.

Sharing a completed form

A form may look filled in yet still contain interactive fields. Keep the original for later editing. If the recipient accepts a flattened visual copy, inspect every filled field after approving rasterisation; otherwise preserve the form structure and request another transfer route.

Questions about Compress PDF to 500KB

Will a 900KB PDF always fit?

The starting size alone cannot predict the result. Embedded fonts, scanned photos, vectors and page count affect the available reduction. Use the measured target status and inspect the attempt rather than relying on a promised percentage.

Should I compress again after it fits?

Repeated lossy processing can accumulate artefacts. Once the downloaded PDF meets the receiver's rules and remains clear, retain that copy. Return to the original if you need to try a different target.
