# Where does Shard Tools process data?

The [privacy policy](https://shard.tools/privacy) is authoritative. On
browser tool pages, selected file bytes are processed in the visitor's tab,
not uploaded to Shard Tools for processing. Closing or reloading the tab
discards its temporary file references. The
[privacy proof](https://shard.tools/privacy-proof) demonstrates one image
workflow; it is not a blanket test of every action.

The separate remote MCP endpoint handles no-file calculations on Cloudflare
using the supplied inputs. Its Edge Assisted file actions receive file bytes
at Cloudflare for transient processing. Those actions are not Local Private.
An AI provider may also receive whatever the user sends to that assistant;
using a browser tool does not control the provider's policies. See the

The site can download code, fonts, ads, or consent resources. A network
request alone does not prove that selected file bytes were uploaded; inspect
its destination and payload. Advertising partners may make separate requests
and use cookies where consent and applicable law permit. The site does not run
a separate client-side analytics script, but Cloudflare still records ordinary
