Using the tools

You may use these tools for personal or commercial work, free of charge, without creating an account or asking permission. Browser tools process selected files on your device; their practical limits include your hardware and each tool's documented input limits. Edge Assisted MCP actions send supported inputs to Cloudflare for remote processing and are subject to action-specific file, page, and request limits. Check the current MCP guide and the result's warnings before relying on an action.

Your files remain yours

We claim no rights over anything you open with a tool. Browser-local file actions do not send the selected file to Shard Tools. Edge Assisted MCP file actions do send file bytes for transient processing and return the result in the response; this is not on-device processing. See the privacy policy for the data-handling distinction. Output produced by a tool is yours to use, subject to any rights in the source material.

Provided as-is

The tools are provided without warranty of any kind. They are built carefully and tested, and each page states the real limits of what it does - but software has defects, browsers differ, and unusual files behave unexpectedly. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for any loss arising from use of the site.

The practical implication matters more than the legal wording: always keep your original file. Several tools produce a changed copy, and some of those changes cannot be undone. Compressing a scan discards detail permanently. Cropping removes pixels. Rasterising a document turns text into a picture. Rebuilding a document from copied pages leaves a digital signature invalid. Each page says so where it applies; treat the output as a new file rather than a replacement until you have checked it.

Not professional advice

Calculators on this site are for general information and estimation. They are not financial, legal, tax, or professional advice, and their results should not be the sole basis for a decision. Figures depend entirely on the assumptions you enter, and real products carry fees, rounding rules, and conditions a simple model does not capture. Check anything important with a qualified professional and with the institution concerned.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to process material you have no right to process, and do not attempt to disrupt it for other people. This applies to browser tools and remote MCP requests alike. Do not submit material to an Edge Assisted action unless you are permitted to send it for remote processing.

Availability

We make no promise that the site will be available without interruption, that any tool will remain published, or that behaviour will not change. Tools may be added, altered, or withdrawn. If a page you rely on matters to your workflow, keep a copy of the output you need rather than depending on the page continuing to exist.

Third-party software

The tools are built on open-source libraries that run in your browser, and those components remain under their own licences. Nothing here grants you rights over our site design, written content, or branding.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The revision date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
