Use pt to px

Converts points to pixels in this tab, with nothing sent anywhere.

Runs entirely on your deviceThe conversion happens in this browser tab. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored, which is worth knowing for anything you would not paste into a search box.

At the CSS reference ratio, 12 points correspond to 16 pixels. That does not guarantee identical-looking text: font design, browser zoom, display density, and operating-system scaling all affect the apparent size.

About pt to px

Type sizes from print, from a word processor or from a PDF come in points, but a web or screen layout works in pixels. Converting points to pixels turns a print size into the on-screen value, using 96 pixels and 72 points to the inch. So a 12pt body is 16px, a 10pt caption is about 13px, and an 18pt heading is 24px on screen. Bringing a Word or InDesign type scale onto the web is the common case, turning the points a document designer chose into the pixels a browser stylesheet will render. Legal and academic templates fix body type in points, so converting to pixels is how that exact size is reproduced faithfully on a web version of the document. A CSS pixel result does not determine a raster export resolution, which must be chosen separately. For example, 12pt corresponds to 16 CSS pixels under the 96-pixel-per-inch reference, regardless of screen zoom.

Both directions

CSS pixels are reference units

At the CSS ratio used here, 9 pt corresponds to 12 px and 18 pt corresponds to 24 px. Those are style values, not a count of physical screen pixels. Display density, browser zoom and scaling can change how many hardware pixels draw a glyph. Use the converted value as a starting point and inspect the actual font and line spacing in the destination layout.
