How to convert kph to mph
Kph, kmh and km/h all commonly mean kilometres per hour. Divide the speed by 1.609344 to express it in miles per hour. At 100 km/h, the result is approximately 62.1371 mph. Multiplying by 0.6213711922, as this tool does, gives the same result at the displayed precision.
Common km/h to mph values
30 km/h = 18.6411 mph; 50 km/h = 31.0686 mph; 60 km/h = 37.2823 mph; 80 km/h = 49.7097 mph; 100 km/h = 62.1371 mph; 120 km/h = 74.5645 mph. For an estimate, multiplying km/h by 0.6 is convenient but underestimates the answer.
Treadmill and cycling speeds
A treadmill set to 10 km/h corresponds to about 6.2137 mph. This is speed, not pace: minutes per kilometre is calculated by dividing 60 by km/h, so 10 km/h also means 6 minutes per kilometre. Do not enter a pace such as 6:00 and expect a speed conversion.
Rounding for a comparison
Keep the original number when comparing specifications, then round the converted result at the end. A recorded average speed is different from an instantaneous display or a stated maximum. Unit conversion changes none of those meanings; compare measurements taken on the same basis.
