Separate decimal inches from feet and inches
A length of 180 cm becomes about 70.866 inches. Divide by 12 to obtain 5 whole feet with about 10.866 inches remaining. The decimal 5.906 feet is not 5 feet 9.06 inches. When fitting furniture, compare the unrounded inch result with the actual opening and leave the clearance required by the product; rounding a tight measurement can hide a mismatch.
